Problem with Vista Service Pack 1, Update: First Survival Step!
February 27th, 2008 | by Frenday |As i recall before, that Windows Vista Service Pack 1 may already be headed for some trouble as claim by Microsoft itself see my post regarding some programs effected by Vista SP1. A “prerequisite update,” which is required to be installed before SP1 can be installed, has been pulled off of Microsoft’s website, and why? It’s been causing some computers to get stuck in endless boot or make them unable to boot at all.
For new user, whether or not your computer has the update, if your PC is still booting normally after installing Vista SP1, you have nothing to worry about. But if you have a Vista machine that won’t boot, you’re best option for first step troubleshooting is using the Vista startup repair utility to roll back the change, though this may not fix the problem in all cases but a lease you might have a chance to recover back to normal then stuck in endless boot or fail to boot at all.
