Since you are going to have to supply power to your surveillance camera, you may as well hard wire it, since WiFi cameras can be hacked, so there goes your security.
Buy a moderately priced IP camera with good weatherproofing and securely attach it where no one can vandalize or steal it.
Then set up your server attached to the internet and open a port on your firewall to allow you to address the IP address from anywhere in the world .. You will want to password access to the camera

The best wireless camera surveillance system depends on your budget. Best way to achieve this is with IP Cameras, you will need the following:
1) Any modern computer
2) Wireless network, probably add an extra powerful antenna to cover the building and go through walls & floors and ensure the network is connected to the Internet
3) Use BiKal EyeSoft IP Surveillance Software, it will work with most IP, analogue and USB cameras on the market, its a smart IP CCTV software with lots of useful features and is easy to use, see http://www.bikal.co.uk/network-surveilla...
4) BiKal also do wireless IP cameras that also have wired IP & analogue access in the same camera, these cameras also have access via 3G mobile phones. But you can use most popular wireless IP cameras, even HD ones like from Axis or for better price use flexwatch, hawking, acti or candy bar cam.
Thats it, if you have a PC already, simply add the software and which cameras you want to use.
