It is not important in any way, except looks, to have the cover. If the console has an HDD then having the cover would be pointless.

If you are buying a 360 that has a hard drive, you don’t need anything else. If you are buying one that doesn’t have a hard drive and aren’t planning on attaching a hard drive, you should have one of the covers that goes over the top where the hard drive would attach.

i think that if u have the arcade version then u should have a cover so thing s dont get in ther but u have a built in hard drive then its fine either way hope this helps

As long as you have a way to connect the HDD to your XBOX360, it should be fine without the cover.

nope. unless you have your xbox vertically, hardly anyone will even see that spot there. and even so, it’s not hurting anything by being uncovered.
