Does Anyone Have Any Suggestions For Starting A Home Photography Business?
May 26th, 2009 | by Frenday |Me and my boyfriend are starting a photography business in the DFW area. We are mainly going to market to local businesses at first to get our pictures displayed (for free, hopefully) and then hopefully people will start seeing our products and want to purchase for their homes, offices, etc. I was just looking for any suggestions, advice or any helpful information that we could use. We are still in the planning stages, but hope to be up and running in a few months. Thanks for all your help!

Photography busines is very competitive. Everybody who has a camera thinks they can be a pro. So you will have some difficult times ahead. One thing somebody told me long time ago is not to compete with price but with services. You keep lowering the price eventually you nor your competitor can stay in business.
Get some good books on the business side of photography business. I own three book:http://www.amazon.com/Photography-Focus-…http://www.amazon.com/How-Start-Home-Bas…http://www.amazon.com/Business-Studio-Ph…
They are a small price to pay for expert opinion.
Good Luck.
P.S. The biggest mistake you can make is to assume that if you are a good photographer, then the business will automatically do well.
