Can I Claim Back Money From The National Insurance Paid If I Am Moving To Another Country Permanently?

June 26th, 2009 | by Frenday |

I am Spanish and I have been working and paying taxes in England for 7 years. Now I am moving back to Spain permanently and as I have not reached the minimum of 11 years necessary to be eligible to have a pension in the future, I have been told that all the money I have paid will simply disappear… Can I claim some of that money back?

No, I am afraid not….National Insurance also pays (in part) for the NHS and presumably you have made use of that service whilst you have been living here.
