Is It Safe For Me To Download Internet Explorer 8 Without An Antivirus On My Computer?
June 28th, 2009 | by Frenday |I have Windows Vista and I didn’t get an antivirus as of yet. Is it safe for me to download IE 8 anyways, just as I would download (for example) a security update or something like that? It popped up finally in the Windows Update on my computer and I would really like to know. Thank you for your help!

Yes it’s safe, While you are in the mood for downloading, go to download.com and get Avira Antivir Personal free anti-virus. Get it now. Or your next question will be How to I remove this Virus that is ruining my computer.http://download.cnet.com/Avira-AntiVir-P…

Yes it is safe to download IE8 because it is an official mocrosoft program. In my opinion Mozilla Firefox is a better browser though, it’s a lot faster and more stable. If you haven’t tried out Firefox I recommend you do because I use to use IE aswell until I came across Mozilla Firefox. You can download Firefox here.http://www.mozilla-europe.org/en/firefox…
I recommend you do get virus protection though as it isn’t safe to browse the Internet without it, so although it’s safe for you to download IE8 you could get a virus in the process (popups).
A good virus protection program I use is Avast, you can find it here.http://www.avast.com/
If you’re unsure whether instaling IE8 will impair your computer then you can always create a restore point first with system restore, I always do this when I’m unsure about things.
Hope this helps.

You are risking getting virus’s, malware, spyware and more bad bugs by connecting to Internet with out Internet Security installed and these things can cause all sorts of problems such as corrupting your operating system so bad that you will have to reinstall it.
As for your question yes it is safe to download IE8 from http://www.microsoft.com, it is safer and faster than previous versions of IE. I use several browsers and Fire Fox is very good, down load F/F from: http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/per... and it is very safe to use and download.
Hope this is of help

It should be OK if you’re getting the update from Windows updates but there is always a chance for Spyware to be attached. Just make sure you have Windows firewall on. You can download Malwarebytes to scan for Spyware after you download IE 8. http://www.malwarebytes.org/
If you need a free anti-Virus program for now then try Avira or Avast.http://www.free-av.com/http://www.avast.com/eng/download-avast-…

Hello,
Yes, it will be safe if you are downloading it from Microsoft official site.
Otherwise it will be good to have an antivirus software installed.

It’s not safe to have IE in general! Download mozilla firefox instead, it’s safer, quick and has no hassles!

It should be safe but if I were you, I would get Avast from download.com. One of the top free anti-viruses out there. You should not be unprotected.
