I Have An Irritating And Ridiculous Antivirus 2009 Thing On My Computer. How Do I Get Rid Of It?

July 1st, 2009 | by Frenday |

My mum was surfing the net and went on a website that started running a scan of our computer, telling us we had 395 infections. We know that that isn’t true but this ridiculous ‘antivirus 2009′ thing will not be deleted and now pops up every few minutes to tell us about these non-existent infections. Does anyone know how to get rid of it?

Start > control panel > add or remove programs
click on the virus and remove it better work
then install AVG antvirus 8.0 free ediiton it is one of the best out there
if the above way doesnt work then try
Start > accessoris > system tools > system restore > restore my computer to an earlier time
click on one day before the day your mom installed the software
note the computer will shut down
    and then restart
    good Luck :)

unfortunately the Antivirus 2009 is a very hard and tricky virus to get rid off.
As i imagen u are having a hard time trying to delete it (been there done that lol). What i did was i went to wikipedia and searched it. I did give me instructions how to manually get rid of it however its very complicated.
My boyfriend is a computure nerd and what he suggested i do is:
go to start then accessories and ”unistall” the program
**now the program will say it unistalled (but it doesnt)**
then he told me to go to system tools and restore the computer to the day before the download.
I did that and so far no Antivirus 2009 or pop- ups. So try this way of getting rid of it if that doesnt work buy the AE anti virus and download that That program is a miracle worker!!
    GOOD LUCK

restart the machine in safe mode. open the program files folder, find the your antivirus program folder, open the antivirus program’s .exe file. and run a full system scan. if it is there, it will be found and quarantined, at which point you can restart the machine normally and delete the viruses.
also, afterwards go to microsoft.com and download “windows defender” It is an awesome spyware/adware program that monitors everything in real time.

The anti-viruss 2009 is the virus I also had it today!! it is so annoying.
I took advice of here and used the malwarebytes anti-malware thingy from ….
    ttp://www.malwarebytes.org/
I’m not very good with understanding computers but it I managed it so i advise anyone with the same problem to get rid of it using this malwarebytes.
once its all setup I did a full scan it took around 40 – 50 mins then asked me if i wanted to fix problems I clicked yes and after a couple of minutes i had to reboot and the antivirus2009 had all gone, no trace of it left!
This was free by the way
    Hope this helps

I got that thing too and it sucks. You have to go into program files and delete everything that has the name of it on it. If you have your own actual virus and adware scanner on your computer, which you should (Norton, AVG, whatever…) run it and it will show you which files they are. Then go to ’system restore’ and reset your computer to a date before that garbage got on there. I did that and I’ve had no further trouble.

it isn’t true. I had the same thing a while back.
I am rubbish with computers, but i know my computer eventually wouldn’t turn on, and I had to take it to a repair place. People will tell you to download anti spyware and virus stuff. not sure if it will work at getting rd of it though.
However AVG is very good at isolating viruses etc.

Go to http://www.onecare.com. This is Windows own anti virus. There is a free trial download which will clean off the rubbish. It also has other useful attributes. I would avoid Norton as I had a problem installing it, the was unable to delete parts of it!

Antivirus 2009 is a very dangerous rogue antispyware program. I would remove it as soon as possible. It can steal your passwords and ruin your CPU. The program I used is available http://www.spyware-fix.net
