Just run a free scan from TrendMicro, it takes a while but does a better job than Norton.

My computer did the same thing but instead i took it to a computer shop where they dumped my hard drive…which made it like a brand new computer and now it is just like new give that a try

Yeah, answer number one is correct….your slapping band aids on a severed limb,….well put…
To solve your situation, you need to backup th bad PC’s data on to an external media. If you don’t know how to do that yourself, then I would recommend you pay somebody that you can find in your neighborhood to do it for you…or spend the week or so to learn about filesystems, partitions, and the best ways to connect an internal hard drive through an external interface (or you could run a version of linux live which carries an FTP server on it, ftp all of your precious data from that machine to a host machine…and then transfer it back to your machine when your finished with the next step…)
Then you need to restore your computer. If you have a copy of the magical restore discs that came with your machine, you can slap those into the machine, reboot, follow the instructions, watch everything on your computer be deleted, and your computer will magically be restored to factory settings, with no viri (yet). If you dont have the restore CD’s, then you will have to purchase a copy of windows to put on there, unless you and your client are feeling adventerous and
want to try out linux. I love linux and it is completely immune to these problems, yet then again, so is a PC which doesnt run thrid party software, download tons of free limewire music, while browsing tons of pretty lady sites….

Consider this an excellent time to recognize that
your operating system is defective. I recommend replacing
it with one of:http://fedora.redhat.comhttp://www.opensuse.orghttp://www.debian.orghttp://www.ubuntu.orghttp://www.slackware.orghttp://www.freebsd.orghttp://www.opensolaris.org
Any of these will be more reliable, less susceptible to
viri, uses your hardware more efficiently, and they’re
all free.

dude i have the Norton but Wat u nee to do is go to system recovery in your system tools and then wipe the whole thing clean of ever thing that includes viruses and if that’s not an option then erase the anti virus program on your old computer and then reinstall the new 1 you bought 2 the new computer if not what else u can do also get a usb flash drive and import the norton program that way goo d luck

Here is my suggestions…
Try running in safe mode w/networking and see if it is a little faster(it should be faster because all programs are not suppose to load). If download is still going slow then try to transfer the anti virus software with a usb stick drive or even burn it on a disk or something. Also, you might want to run anti-spyware software. Also, go to run on start menu and type “msconfig,” then go to startup tab and uncheck any program you do not want to run and system services tab you can also uncheck certain things like error reporting and such(be careful in system services, if you do not know then leave it checked).
