What Is The Best Video Editing Software That Is Easy To Create Awesome Effects?

September 24th, 2009 | by Frenday |

I only know of Adobe After Effects which involves a bit of know how (which I will obtain if nothing else is available). Is there any other good software to add effects such as lightening, lasers etc?

On my opinion Adobe After Effects is the best, however you can check VisionLab Studio which also has advanced features.

Actually what a lot of people don’t know is that Adobe After Effects in NOT a video editor. It is a Motion Graphics designer tool. You create all the effects by hand essentially. In order to unlock it’s full potential you need to use expressions, which require scripting skill. I’ve used AE for almost a year and I have unlocked maybe 5% of it’s potential. You can create as much as you want, the sky is the limit…but AE isn’t very user friendly. It’s down right confusing as heck to be honest. AE also doesn’t support audio. You can see footage buy you can’t edit audio in any way. You can import music, but you cannot listen to it, making syncing to music a major pain.
Sony Vegas Pro 9 would be a good choice for you I believe. It is a video editor, audio and everything! It’s much easier to use than AE as well. Vegas supports 3D editing, and if you can create lightning and many other effects. Vegas is essentially AE Lite. It is not as powerful as AE, but if you know what your doing in Vegas you can create all sorts of stuff. AE was meant to be partnered with Premiere Pro (the actual video editor of Adobe) With Premiere Pro and AE you can work with the two with ease since Premiere cannot do things such as masking. Vegas has all those features built in. You can mask in Vegas without the need for another program, as is the case with Premiere and AE.
In my opinion I would do a free trial of AE and Vegas and see which you prefer. But unless you are prepared to spend hours of time reading up on AE and watching as many tutorials as possible, Vegas would probably be your choice

AVS Video Editor is a full featured, yet easy to use video editor that enables you to edit and enhance your videos and convert them to a variety of formats. You can import existing video clips or capture them directly from your DV recorder or other input device, and automatically split the video into scenes that allow you to cut parts from the movie or re-arrange the content.
You can add additional audio, transition effects, insert images, text overlays, and even video overlays to add special effects or annotations.
So I recommend you this tool, you can see detail and guides here: http://avs-video-editor.kooksoft.com/
