How Can I Save Money Instead Of Spending It?

November 6th, 2009 | by Frenday |

I really want a laptop that costs $1000. I have to save up all that money. How can I make money and save it once I make it? What are the best ways to avoid spending the money I make?

    * Shop at thrift or discount stores. Branded household items and designer clothes are nice, but you can save a lot of money if you buy discount items at thrift stores. Try to buy the best possible deals at discount stores; just because the item is on sale doesn’t meant that it has to be of lower or cheaper quality.
    * Buy in bulk. Wholesale purchases are cheaper than retail purchases in the long run. It’s best to schedule wholesale grocery shopping once or twice a month for you to save on travel expenses and other purchases.
    * Get rid of unnecessary expenses. Your quality of life doesn’t have to be reduced just because you’re trying to save money, but always evaluate your shopping lists and expenses to see if you can live without one or two expensive items every now and then.

Make it so the money isn’t available to you, maybe try an account like a President’s choice financial savings account account if you’re in canada. Otherwise, ICICI or ING seem to be among the leaders for savings accounts right now, plus the added ‘benefit’ in your case that it takes a 2 business days to transfer money out of those accounts. This will eliminate impulse shopping.
    Good Luck!

Do you visit the vending machines at work or do you eat out instead of taking your lunch from home? If you do you could easily save that much by stopping this habit. According to a new site that I found (www.tips-on-saving-money.com) you could save 250 dollars a year by buying your drinks by the case vs. out of the machine and 2080 dollars a year by taking your lunch and avoiding the vending machine! This is just two of the great ideas that they have, you should check it out!
