Can I Run 2 Antivirus Programs At The Same Time?

November 10th, 2009 | by Frenday |

Hi, I am currently using ESET NOD32 Antivirus. But I also want to put on Mcafee. Would having 2 of them running at the same time be a problem?

if you use 2 different anti-virus programs on the same computer, they will conflict with each other.

If you mean on the same computer, yes and no.
If you disable 1 anti-virus, for example your nod32, and install mcafee, there is no problem as long as you keep nod32 disabled.
If you try to run 2 anti-virus software at the same time on the same computer, your computer will slow down allot or crash.

Short answer, yes! Do not install two AV programs onto the same computer. It will cause your computer to slow down dramatically since they will both be “fighting” to do the same thing. Never use more than one AV on your computer. If you would like another way to scan your computer for viruses, check out the free online virus scanners from the links below:

Don’t install 2 antiviruses at the same time, this could damage your system. I bought bitdefender total security to get all the protection needed. There is no need for 2 antiviruses if you have a good one!

they will both conflict with earchother. i prefer u uninstall eset nod 32 and install McAfee, since it has a higher detection rate.
