November 24th, 2009 | by Frenday |I have AVG Antivirus Free Edition. Whenever I open a Word or Excel Document, they are scanned for virus which delays opening them. How can I deactivate virus scanning for MS Office documents such as Word and Excel?
Thank you for your help.

In Windows, click on Start | Run, and in the Open box, type:
regsvr32 /u “C:Program FilesGrisoftAVG7avgoff2k.dll”
then click on OK.

You need the paid version to be able to exclude files from the scanning process. You can’t do it in the free version.

Change the file types that are searched. I am not sure if this option is available in the free version of AVG Anti-Virus, but you do see the option there and it may only be available to change in the pro / purchased versions.
The option should be in the AVG Resident Shield options under advanced.
Good luck!
Hope that helps

launch avg test center, on the left side click the scheduler and then edit the test plan.
