Urgent,commputer Attacked By Virus,it Blocks Antivirus And Online Scans,restoring System Didn’t Work:ideas?
November 25th, 2009 | by Frenday |My computer has been attacked by avvirus that wouldn’t let me use my antivirus or scan the PC online, and would block any website I’d try to go. What can I do to get rid of it? I tried IE, Firefox and restoring system and nothing worked.Anything else appart from formatting the hard drive?

start your system when BIOs appears press F8 then you computer will go in safe mode then try to use your anti virus software, if it doesn’t work then download superantispyeare+malwarebytes from c/net free download.com and use these both software to scan then see the result, if your problem remain then you have to format your hard drive.

I would recommend any well known anti viruses but you cannot go to the web sites.Go to safe mode to install it or AVAST to scan the boot sectors.Otherwise formatting will be the only option to put your other files in an external hard drive since you would have problems using internet hard drives.I would’ve recommended SkyDrive or Humyo.

Download and install the free version of Avast. After installation you are prompted to reboot the computer. The first time Avast runs it does a boot sector scan – it will scan your hard drive BEFORE it tries to load Windows.
If you’re lucky, this will remove enough infections to allow other software to run. Then download and scan with Malwarebytes.
Some people recommend then scanning with Super antispy too. I haven’t tried that myself.

Sounds like it’s time to take the computer out in the backyard and shoot it.

You can try and see if your anti-virus will run in safe mode. But the virus has probably disabled it’s ability to update and if that is the case, your anti-virus is now effectively useless.
To access Safe Mode, reboot then repeatedly press the F8 key at the first screen. The screen will look strange, but don’t panic. This is normal in Safe Mode.
Otherwise, I suggest you try Avira AntiVir Rescue System:
“Avira AntiVir Rescue System is a Linux-based application that allows accessing computers that cannot be booted anymore. Thus it is possible to:
repair a damaged system, rescue data, scan the system for virus infections.”
Download it on your computer (if you can) and burn it to a disk, if not use another computer to download it. Then boot your machine using the disc. You may need to change the boot order in your BIOS setup to have your computer boot from your CD/DVD drive first. Depends on how you have your machine setup. Most new computers have no floppy and will boot from the CD/DVD drive first.

BTW, this rescue disk doesn’t seem to work with Asus motherboards.
Good luck.
