How Does One Get Into Subtitling And What Software Is Necessary?
December 11th, 2009 | by Frenday |I am basically a translator (English – Tamil) from Tamil Nadu, India and like to get into subtitling for expanding business. How would I source clients and what software does one need to do this job and how much would that cost? Is this suitable for freelancers?

I have worked as a translator (Japanese -> English) for about six years now. I have translated and subtitled over five movies for Toei Cinema. The best way to get into the business is to meet a girl who speaks the target language and start a relationship. If her father owns the movie company it should all work out for you like it did for me. The software I use is called “Microsoft Word”. It is available for most computer platforms besides Commodore 64.
