    Well it depends on the nature of the job, IT is a big area.
    Network management and support is unlikely to effected beyond the downturn in the jobs market.
    Software development will be different. Most software developed in australia is for specific businesses.
    With the economic downturn, companies will be looking at their budget closely. It is fairly easy to cancel an upgrade to their software for 3 to 6 months while things are uncertain.
    So it is likely that software developers will have trouble finding new projects.
