I Downloaded Norton Antivirus 2010 Last Night, And After Scanning My Computer Freezes Upon Startup?

January 6th, 2010 | by Frenday |

Has anyone else had this problem?
Can Norton Antivirus really kill a computer like that?
One other note, I checked this morning, and the computer can boot up in safe mode.
I’m on my work computer now, and this problem is happening with my home computer.

norton is a smart anti-virus, the problem maybe because of
you must has done something to ur computer before installing norton.(surf malware infected web, download file that contain trojan downloader, installing untrusted program, open e-mail that has worm32 on it)
    or
u must be deleted system32 infected quarantine files.
    for the other,
start from 2008, norton has start their development on improving their product. so don blame norton on this.

what anti virus program was on ur computer before u installed norton ????
if it was avg u need to use their uninstall program just like with the rest of any a/v apps in this current age
if u used add/remove it did nothing but remove ur desktops icons all the registry entries are still there .easy way to check go to regedit
look in htky local_machine and current_user if u see it there it is still on ur pc …than to software
than go back to start and look in search choose all files n folders and type ur program in the upper window
click next -u will see left over files …so it is still on ur pc
back to start than my computer c/drive look in ur program files for ur app
u can see what i mean than …….. u have to look and hunt…….hope this might shed some light on any compouter program u install on ur pc
when deleteing program in regedit never open it .u want to put ur mouse on the file name and right click to delete the whole file
in search always start at the bottom of the files and work up…than install ……www.Ccleaner.com by piriform is free and run the registry cleaner

Under settings you might have it on Early Load. This setting increases the boot time as it scans all services as they load. I have turned it off. For maximum protection leave it on if you feel you need it.
