What Is The Best Software To Use To Backup Windows And Office In Case Of Hd Crash?
January 8th, 2010 | by Frenday |I have an HP laptop and my brother installed one of his licenses for Office 2007 Ultimate on my computer so I can have Office for school. He also provided other software on my computer and I DON’T want to have to ship my laptop across country to have the software reinstalled. Is there a way that I can backup my HD completely so if my computer crashes I don’t have to worry about losing Office and other programs?

Yes – you should create a “mirror image backup” of your hard drive to an external hard drive or dvd
you can use macrium reflect free http://www.macrium.com/reflectfree.asp
the software also lets you create a recovery cd – boot your laptop from the cd in order to restore a previously created backup image. It will restore your operating system, software and settings.
You should learn how to use this kind of software – you can find tutorials on macrium’s site or follow these youtube videos

paragon drive backup express is an alternativehttp://www.paragon-software.com/home/db-…
Acronis True Image Home is an excellent, easy to use paid-for alternative.
btw you’re lucky to have such a thoughtful and generous brother!
