Is It Possible To Install Software On A Computer Without Knowing The Administrator Password?

January 26th, 2010 | by Frenday |

I want to install some software on my new laptop, but whenever I attemp to it says it must be done through administrator. This usually wouldn’t be an issue, but the person who owned the laptop before me set the password and I lost contact with him.
Is there any alternate way to get into admistrator or to go around it to install the software?
Thanks!

you need to change the admin password and then you can install any software you want.
    at command prompt type
    net user
it will display list of users.in my PC this is like this..
    G:Documents and Settingslipu>net user
    User accounts for \ASIT-E8A07A30AC
    ————————————–…
    __vmware_user__ Administrator arpita
    Guest HelpAssistant IUSR_ASIT-E8A07A30AC
    IWAM_ASIT-E8A07A30AC lipu SUPPORT_388945a0
    The command completed successfully.
after this type net user user_name *.
here user_name is the user name of which you want to change the password. it will ask a new password and to confirm it. In my pc this is like this..
    G:Documents and Settingslipu>net user administrator *
Type a password for the user:
    Retype the password to confirm:
    The command completed successfully.

There are lots of ways, but the easiest for you would be to go into Safe Mode. Try this website for instructions: http://www.computerhope.com/issues/chsaf…
