When You Take Your Computer To Office Depot For A Diagonistic/antivirus Service, What Do They Do?
January 28th, 2010 | by Frenday |My father is taking this computer in to get all the virus problems removed, but I’m nervous about if they’ll look into our private files. Y’know, social security, downloaded private files, personal documents. What exactly does this service provide and look into?

Hey; I’m with Arfen 110%.
It isn’t brain surgery or rocket science. If you loaded your own software like MS Office and set up your own email you can do this in a walk. It will take some time but I have an Anti-Virus, Anti-Malware and an Ad-Aware program running right now, as I type.
There’s probably 50 people on here who would give you all the help you need to do it yourself, and you can include me in that gang of 50.
BTW, Every piece of “Anti” software running right now is Freeware. Zero cost to you and there’s no way I can make a cent helping you.
Think it over and either ask another question for help or email me…

Why not just download an antivirus system and do it yourself ?
also some anti malware and antispy
it will take a few hours but you have not got some stranger going through your files.
also if they find anything illegal on there
then there is always the chance that they will report it to the authoritys.
Do this on-line scan : http://www.eset.com/onlinescan/
only if you might be worried that you could be infected now.

They do exactly the same thing as you can do it yourself for FREE.
Install an anti-virus software, anti-malware software, a registry cleaner.
Download all these programs at http://www.download.com and do it yourself and save $$.
Anti-virus: AVG 9.0 FREE, Avast, etc
Malware: SuperAntispyware, Malwarebyte’s Antimalware, Spy Boot and Destroy, etc
Cleaner HDD: Advance System Care, Auslogic, CCleaner, etc
Use only one of each, not all on the same time, just pick the one you like
