What Is The Best Manga Software Out There?

February 6th, 2010 | by Frenday |

I guess you could say I am a begginner manga artist trying to find the best way to learn the tools of the trade. And I know that purchasing manga software will be a very smart investment. But I don’t know what to buy.
Is there any manga software out there that could be considered as the industry standard?

You don’t need any special software when you’re just starting out. Any comics you make will only be as good as your own skills, there’s no way to cheat with an expensive program.
If you’re making webcomics, you just something to add text to your speech bubbles. Hell, even MSPaint can be used for that.

Most people use Photoshop, believe or not. There are specific programs designed to help with manga, (like Manga Studio) but to me they seem like cheap knock-off versions.
Photoshop is a pretty decent program that should last. I use a wacom tablet with it, and its nice editing scanned pictures.
