How Can I Repay Money Owed When Money Is Tight?

February 27th, 2010 | by Frenday |

I owe my dad over $200 dollars for texting because he got me a limited plan. I don’t have a job and the only money I earn for chores goes to buying clothes and going out with my friends. How can I pay my dad back if I want to buy the things I need for the rest of the year?

You will have to do less going out with friends and less buying all the other things you want because you have a debt you need to repay. That’s what happens – when you owe money, you have to cut back so you can get it repaid.
    Good luck.

You stop spending money until your debt is paid off. This is an important lesson for you to learn. When you want to have fun with your friends, pack a lunch and go to the park. There are lots of things you can do for free.
Parents do owe their children a cell phone, much less texting. Don’t abuse the privileges you enjoy. If you think your dad is tough for making you pay, wait until you get out in the real world!

hello – see if your father will agree to monthly payments and use the money spent on clothes and going out towards paying your father back. Turn off the phone. Ask your father if he will allow you to keep a little money each month to go out with your friends once or twice, just not all the time. good luck

welcome to the real world. you have to take a break from buying clothes, and looks like you will be staying home for awhile instead of going out and having fun! You chose to rack up a $200 texting bill, now you must pay the consequence

    Well, the answer is simple..
Stop spending money on clothes and going out..
You can do things with your friends without spending money and you don’t need a lot of clothes.

Start paying him $5 per week or start doing more chores to cover the cost.
You don’t need clothes nor outings with your friends. I would have grounded your butt anyway.
Just work out a payment plan. Or get a job.

It’s really easy. You don’t buy clothes, you stay at home with your friends. Oh, and put down the phone.

Stop buying clothes, and stop going out with your friends until you have repaid your debt.
